Work experience
Movetex(2021 – present)
As a Full Stack Developer, I am involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial business analysis to final testing and delivery. I work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and feature requests, translating business needs into effective technical solutions.
My role starts with analyzing requirements from both a technical and product perspective, ensuring that proposed solutions align with company objectives and deliver real value to users. I actively contribute to architectural discussions and decision-making, helping shape scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software systems.
Once the technical approach has been defined, I take ownership of the implementation, developing both frontend and backend components where needed. Throughout the development process, I maintain a strong focus on code quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
In addition to development, I am responsible for validating and testing the solutions I build, ensuring they meet functional requirements and quality standards before release. This end-to-end involvement allows me to bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution while delivering reliable software products.
Docbyte(2021)
During my internship at Docbyte, I was responsible for designing and implementing a DynamoDB-based solution to store and manage labelled data efficiently. My work involved translating functional requirements into a scalable data model, ensuring that the structure supported fast and flexible access patterns.
I took ownership of both the design and implementation phases, working with AWS DynamoDB to build a robust backend solution tailored to the needs of the system. This included defining table structures, access patterns, and optimizing the data model for performance and scalability.
The internship allowed me to gain hands-on experience with cloud-based architecture and NoSQL databases while strengthening my ability to design production-ready data solutions.
Education
Bachelor of applied computer science
HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts
I studied Applied Computer Science, where I built a strong foundation in software development, system design, and modern software architecture. Throughout my studies, I learned the fundamentals of coding across multiple languages and frameworks, along with best practices for building scalable and maintainable applications.
I specialized in Mobile Development and Cybersecurity, which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in building mobile applications while also gaining insight into securing software systems and understanding common security principles and threats.
In addition to technical skills, the program included a business component that helped me better understand how software solutions align with organizational goals and user needs.
Personal
Outside of work, I like to stay close to crafts that reward patience and attention to detail. You’ll often find me in specialty coffee bars in Ghent, exploring different roasts and brewing styles, or in a cinema watching arthouse films that push narrative and visual boundaries. I’ve recently also started learning violin as a new personal challenge an ongoing process that keeps me focused on steady improvement and disciplined practice.
